Thoughts

Grannie will always own a very special place in my heart. A place filled with as many burgers, chips and chocolate that a young grandson could want. One of unconditional love, forgiveness and protection. But most of all, one of laughter and happiness. Grannie was one part of my favourite comedy double act - "Grannie and Pop" - for most of my young life. A visit to Argoed was always filled with fun (and often a bit of mischief), but much as I tried, I simply couldn't get in trouble with Grannie. In her eyes, Adam and I could do no wrong. For me, that perfectly encapsulates her. We were also very fortunate to see our own children spend time with her. Giggling as they entered the house to her high-pitched squeals of excitement, then to be lavished with crisps, pop and chocolate! We're incredibly lucky that they got to experience that magic for themselves. Grannie, you will be missed, but you will always be remembered with a smile. Love Ben, Gem, Joe and Tommy...

Granny would always welcome anyone with the warmest of embraces and great kindness, able to see the best in everyone. Many will remember her for her love of talking, but for me, Granny was a great listener. She would quickly lift the any situation with simple and sage advice, often involving the story of the girl and the sea! A rock to the wider family, her wicked sense of humour would always bring laughter to those around her. Throughout her life committing to the care of service of others before herself, and this was epitomised with her welcoming Cwtch. Of course she will be missed, but she will be remembered for being a shining light full of laughter and fun. God Bless Granny
